Strong Churches

The world needs strong churches.

A strong church is “well pleasing” to God (Hebrews 13:21). Ephesians 3:21 makes it clear that the purpose of the church is to “give glory to God”.

The local church has a direct effect on the relative “strength” or “weakness” of the individual members. The sad example of a “weak” church in First Corinthians 5:1-6 caused a brother to continue in sin and affected others. Today, as churches emphasize tolerance and social benefits, they are increasingly weak in biblical doctrine and truths; Paul warned us in Acts 20 that churches like this would “go astray”.
Titus 1:9 tells us that elders are to guard against and refute error; today, many are little more than administrators of church business operations and social calendars.

The world, our nation, our communities and, especially Christians, need strong churches.
